Lighthouse Log - Jeff Tyler, President, Twin Lights Historical Society
The spring of the 250th year of the USA has sprung and the young at heart are looking for something new!
Why not try volunteering at the Navesink Light Station, popularly known as the Twin Lights in Highlands, New Jersey?
Every year on Volunteer Day, we welcome current and potential volunteers of all ages and abilities to socialize, learn how to improve visitor experience, and provide anecdotes and insights they have gleaned from our visitors.
Our Museum store volunteers work a morning or afternoon shift on a day convenient for them. Others help with events or just greeting visitors. We are always looking for new Trustees to help with history, operations and public relations leadership.
Why volunteer at Twin Lights?
Let me count the reasons…
The people - meet visitors from around the world and work with our happy crew
The place - iconic structure, incredible views
The history - come help share it… we will teach you
Give back while having fun doing it
Our formal program begins at 11:00 am, with a working lunch, and ending at 2:30 pm. New volunteers are free to show up any time. Our Trustees will be here to welcome you.
Just look for the lighthouse keeper,
and see you then!!!
